You are who you hang around

There’s a saying that goes, “you are the company you keep” and I think this can be true when it comes to areas of diet and health. There are a few recent articles on this subject that I want to share with you. Researchers have found that obesity is socially contagious–it spreads from person to person within the same social group. Another article I read, If Your Friends Are Fat, Watch Out! is such an interesting article and really explores this same idea.
I have said it before, but I really think our subconscious can control us and keep us trapped, even if we have a desire for change. If you do not surround yourself with friends who are interested in their health, it’s going to be difficult for you to maintain your focus on your own health and wellness. Think about it, if you met a new friend who was into fitness, I would bet that after hearing about her biking, swimming, and running activities, you would develop an interest in the same type of stuff. And it’s as simple as that—you’ve been influenced to become more active.
On the other side of that, if we hang around pizza-loving, beer-drinking friends, where does that put us? In what category do we fall? It is time to connect with those who are reaching for healthy goals. Here at the 3-Hour Diet we believe that support is critical and that is why we offer online communities. These communities are filled with people who are dedicated to better health, and they motivate one another to make smart and healthy choices every day.
Be active, focus on health, and find friends with those same interests. People are out there waiting for you—go make that change!

I am very interested in starting the plan, but I need something to help me be a little bit more organized, as I am a full time nursing student and I work 3-4 days a week also. If Jorge could come up with a journal/day planner (something like the Larry North planner, but smaller) I think it would really help people. It would be great to have a planner that we could just slip into our bag and go, then pull it out and look at it.

We are actually coming up with a new exercise and workout plan. With it there is a small journal book that will help organize your meals and workout times throughout the day.
Look for it at the end of this year!
